'Friendly Fall 2021' Oil on Canvas / 100x120cm / Artist - Loren Marks

Loren collects past, present and imagined scenes to form new narratives. She find motifs from the ornamental and classical, mythology, fantasy and the natural world.

Loren use brushstrokes and layers to make the work move and shift like it’s alive.

"I let the paint take the subjects somewhere else, somewhere unexpected, like what happens to memories when dreaming."

Loren studied Fine Art at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design, Auckland New Zealand. After graduating, she worked as a designer, art director and as a creative in high fashion before focussing solely on her Art Practice. Her studio is based in Te Atatū Peninsula, Auckland.
