Our Trip to Tulum, Mexico

We had seen images on blogs and Instagram and decided Tulum Mexico was definitely a part of the world we wanted to visit. So we did. Now we’re hooked! We tend to be drawn to anywhere with white sand beaches, palm trees and turquoise water, but this was something else.

The whole laid back eco vibe was amazing. Not only is Tulum exquisitely beautiful, it has a very unique feel with an international atmosphere. It's pretty much a beach on the edge of a jungle with fantastic restaurants and even better cocktails.

Here are a few of our favorite picks:

Accommodation-

The Beach Tulum. We would definitely stay there again.

Eating-

Hartwood - if there are queues, it’s worth the wait! Food & atmosphere are both fantastic.

Posada Margarita - The best fresh pasta on the beach.

Be Tulum - Kind of a Robinson Crusoe feel with amazing food.

Ziggy's - Attached to the Beach Hotel and great for breakfast.

Casa Banana - The best spot at night.

Gitano - fun for drinks sitting under jungle vegetation with disco balls and chandeliers swinging in the breeze.

Mateos Mexican Grill - Best fish tacos that we could find (and we tried a few)

Spa treatments –

Coqui Coqui. This is a very cool place to visit, the spa treatments and products are amazing.

All the restaurants and accommodation in Tulum are walking distance to each other. Also, all resorts have bikes to use. Taxis are inexpensive.

If you can bare to pull yourself away from the beach, there are Mayan ruins and Cenotas (Large waterholes in the earth) just a short drive away.

Hasta pronto beautiful Tulum!
